Ive Got a close female friend who is very very frail and weak, she is in mid forties, she is approx 5ft 5inch tall, and has just been weighed by a doctor and her weight is exactly 6 stones, she doesnt hardly eat etc and is very very down, has been for years now, but the doc just sent her away with valium today and says that if she can calm down they can focus on building her up, I dont know about you but i find this absolutley rediculous as its very obvious this person needs a bit more than valium, excuse me but iam mad and i have to say F**k them quak idiot doctors.

Need opinions on this guys as this isnt right, is he right to do this, is she a correct weight, is the whole thing a load of piss or what, iam beggining to lose faith in our health service totally :(

I'm not an expert here fella, but is it worth getting a second opinion from NHS direct over the phone. They surely will be able to offer advice and tell you where to get help from

These blokes/women who prescribe these drugs are Doctors for a reason[8 years of medical pain...uni]

The doc would not prescribe Valium for the sake of it. I,m not after a row matey but i think your mate needs this help reguardless of your opinions on the system.

What if you were seriously ill or had a major accident, would the system be right then.??????

well if your not looking for an argument your going to get one cause your talking garbage mate, ive already watched close people die in similar manner due to lack of the correct medical care and now i can visualise this again, so your saying that a person that turns up at your surgery looking like a total skeleton, falling on thier knees weak and only 6 stone, you think that its correct to hand this person valium and send them away ?? and especially when they are already on anti depressants too, come on man, you are talkin balls man.

ye cheers paul, i know i can call nhs24, but you know summit, they are the most useless overpaid twats out, every single time ive called them over the years i get nowhere, they are as useless as the qwak doctors, infact worse, lol.

Iam just looking mostly on you guyz opinions on the original first post in the thread, i know i can call the quaks and get no where, i know all that, iam trying to get opinions and thoughts on the matter, thats basically all, anyway, forget it, shes probably dead by now.

I'd tend to agree with Phfiller, I would say the Doc's reasoning is, get the Valium in her system and get her feeling a bit more relaxed, and then deal with the other issues once she's more up to being able to handle it. Just a thought like.

What path would you rather the Doc took...? Out of interest.

And each time I've rung NHS Direct, or been in the walk-in centre, for either myself or my little'un, I've always found them pretty good TBH. Difficult job though, and often thankless. If I was my Mum's Doc, I'd have quit years ago, and become a shit shoveller, would have been much easier!

i totally disagree with what youve found with nhs24, ive never had much help, so that i have to disagree on , but all to our own.

the doc, i think the doc should have forced her (i know he cant do that), but tried to force her to goto hospital or summit, she dont need anymore come down drugs man and thats all hes done, as i say, they are qwaks, not thier life or thier family, they dont give a hoot man, ive seen it happen too many times infront of my own eyes and here we go again.

P.s
i again say the nhs24 is a totally useless overpaid service that is no different from the old days, thats my opinion and lots of people i know too, but like i say, everyone to thier own.
