need a ps2 plug (same as mouse) to usb

Hi peeps,

My child minder needs some help, she has a external hdd... but the usb plugs on it have gone tits up... so she only has a ps2 type connection left... but does not have the lead to connect this to her pc

anyone know what lead is needed ?

Are you sure?

You can get PS2-USB adapters cheap but they are usually for mice and keyboards. Never known a hard drive have a PS2 connection.

the ps2 plug will go into the ext hdd, that needs a usb A connector ? then the other end needs to go to her pc, so she can take info from the ext hdd ?

so usb from pc, to ps2 plug to hdd

no mate, just a straight male to male usb lead will do i think. only has to plug into the ps2 connector and into the pc other end
