Gorgeous pic's @brewby55. Lovely subjects too. Cinco estrelas as they'd say here.
My attempts at snapping stationary birds normally end up as birds in flight- usually their back-ends!
We are actually spoiled for choice with wild birds here, sadly "developers" (AKA global greed monster) seem hell-bent on destroying it.
Local salt flats are a magnet to flamingos, stork come and go with the seasons along with dozens of other migrators- but I am not a twitcher so I don't know what most of them are- they are just nice to look at.
@trevortron, thanks for your comments, must be nice to have that sort of wildlife nearby, I have to visit controlled areas for what you probably see in the wild, I also have shed loads of rear views as well LOL

You are absolutely correct, it is a lovely place to live and I never take it for granted. I have others of stork, black-winged stilts and other waders. The herons are a bit too shy for my 300mm lens.
Great photos especially the last one, you obviously know about shutter speed and apertures etc to get the birds so well in focus, I think they are the sort of quality many of us could dream of achieving..........I'm talking about the run of the mill point and shoot camera users like myself, I wouldn't want to denigrate some of the other accomplished photographers on here !

Thanks for the comments, I used 'back button' focusing, set the autofocus to continuous, then with my thumb on focus (continuous)it left my shutter finger free to take multiple frames without having to refocus, believe me there are plenty of 'out of focus' frames but there is more chance of getting some in focus, I tried '3d tracking' but it only works with slow moving subjects really.
