you know when you're driving on the motorway and theres a sign that says something like "London 73 miles"?

anyone know whereabouts in London are these distances are actually measured to?

is it Marble Arch or Trafalgar Sq or somewhere like that?

random question but something i was just wondering about!!

yes am sure is central london m8:Clap:
thanks man - but you know exactly where in central london?

5 different mates have now each told me 5 different answers (e.g. Post Office tower, Buck Palace, Trafalgar Sq, Parliament, Victoria Station)

And i've promised my niece that her "clever uncle who knows the answer to everything" would find out!

ok heres one

from the west end of the M4 to 'cardiff' its says 63 miles, i know this is measured to cardfii castle at the bottom of the a470. 6 miles from the castle the a470 joins the m4. now not knowing the route its worked out from the m4 into cardiff for this ill assume that the end of the a470 is still 63 miles from the west end of the motorway, yet if i do 75mph all the way from the end of the m4 to the jusction with the a470 (which should be approx 63 miles) it takes over an hour

so either the signs are lying, or every speedo ive ever had is lying??

The distances used to be measured to the main post office in the City, Town or Village.
