Motorised LNB?

Driving around London I've noticed some new dishes with a complicated looking LNB holder type thing with several arms holding a single LNB. The dish itself looks similar in shape to a Sly dish only solid and larger. Does anyone know what these might be? I've had a little search around the net but no clue so far.

It's fairly old technology mate, multi-lnb arms have been around for years.

Each LNB is aimed to pick up a different satellite.

I would say its a 2-way broadband dish too. It broadcasts back as well as receives, and the much larger external electronics has various adjustment arms for super-fine tuning.

Ah yes, I've seen those before, only last week i commented to my wife about one sticking out the back of a local newsagents, it only had 1 lnb arm and a single lnb but it looked like the arm was a sort of retractable piston.

2 way sat comms, fancy stuff indeed.

Yeah that must be it! I hadn't noticed that they we're all on corner shops but now I think about it the last one certainly was.

Damn I thought I had a new gadget to obsess about but never actually end up buying. Back the multi LNB rig I've spent a year considering to go with the HD receiver I haven't decided upon yet.

Many moons a go when sky analogue was about and I lived in a flat, I had a motorised lnb arm on my 60cm sky dish.

It was an irte multisat. It was a pain to set up, but I used to zoom between astra and hotbird

You got any links to ISPs offering this service? with prices, speeds, etc

cant get ****** media where i live and bt line only offers 12-13mbit and 1.2mbit up

I've seen these going up near me lately and wondered if that is what they were for.

I went on a cruise last year and logged on whilst in the middle of the Meditarainian!!!
That impressed me, as the dish would have to keep moving to keep track of the sat as the ship moved.
I think it cost me £10 for half an hour, but I had to have a go lol

Its very expensive and not suited to retail use really.
