modern hardcore house?

Ahhh Foam parties. I went to my first ever one at Pasha in Sau Quan in 94 so maybe I was a little late on the whole foam scene.

I started going out in 88 and was more or less knackered and brain dead by 94. We used to call it Hardcore then but now it is referred to as old skool. I dabbled in the garage scene up to around 97 and then just got piss bored with the usual Sat night nonsense. I prefer MOTD these days LOL.

The London scene was awesome with no trouble, violence or anything that you get these days. Blokes would share their gear with total strangers, I guess everyone was so off their face no one gave a toss.

I do wish I had partied outside of London as I heard some of the raves up north were awesome.

What music did you start out on (not talking about your Frankie goes to Hollywood collections)?

Doh!..Hardcore of course...what am I on about happy house...see drugs never affected me at all.

Remember taking my first half of E (Dove) at 17 in 92 at some crappy organised rave in the valleys and thinking where have you been all my life. About 10 of us went and 8 of us never looked backed, travelling everywhere and anywhere most weekends for about 5 years, all burnt out by the end of it.

We had a couple of good clubs in Wales namely Hippo in Cardiff which opened in 91 ( were at the forefront of everything us Welsh. We only discovered colour tele in 85!...wink)and escape in Swansea, opened a bit later.

I remember the year it changed in Ibiza, it was after they showed Ibiza uncovered on TV, before that it was so loved up out there, the year after it was shown I heard some lad say to his pissed up mates "whys every one drinking water"..lol.

The Electros, I remember them..what number did they go up to. I remember electro 19.

Didn't this post begin as a rant...Sorry Dave but thanks for starting it's been good to Reminisce.

it did start as as rant but has morphed into quite a decent and civilised discussion, would move it to general if i could.

Still like all the electro stuff, all the old breakdance tunes, stuff like, shannon, 'let the music play', grand master flash, etc.

Been listening to a good CD the last couple of weeks called Miami 08 by the Defected label. There all good but CD2 is awesome mixed by Simon Dunmore who owns the label I think. Give it a listen.

Edit:Especially the last track, quite fitting for this thread.

This is THE first big tune I can remember aside from the commercial stuff like Bomb The Bass which was and still is great music. Some of Bomb The Basses newer stuff is excellent.

Heres the original Munkey m8,It might jog the old memory?

God damn! That is the original, I definitely remember that tune and it was massive in the rave scene. The chorus was heavily used in promoting in ads for raves way back when.

Thanks for posting that link, I'm going to pass it on to some of my mates :)
