when i check device manager i hav a questoin mark in pci modem any 1 hav a clue much obliged

yeah the drivers for the modem in your pc are not loaded.

do u use a dial up service are u on broadband ?

if u dont use the analouge modem then dont bother about it, if u do then u will need to get the correct driver and install.
