modem problem

hi all i have got a flashed modem and not sure what is wrong with it it just went off one day now cable light just flashes on modem dns problem i think i am new to modems so any help would be good. i am not sure on how to change mac adress can any one help and it is the modem its a scientific Atlanta epc2100r2 any help would be good thanks regards trev
