Hi,
my m8 is in a band and is after some software to use with their mixing deck so that they can record themslves and then put it to disc. Preferably something which isnt too complicated as He's not to good with softawre/pc's.Any ideas??, thanx in advance

does he just want to record an input? Audacity is a free recording tool, personally, i like Soundforge

unless he wants to seperately record different instruments then he'll need a sequencer

There`s a few mate, Fruity Loops, Reason, Cubase

I second Audacity and it will also do multi channel sequencing too, so you can record multiple mono or stereo channels (I've used 16 but I don't know if there any limits). Then downmix to a regular stereo output in WAV (better for quality) or MP3. Or you can save each stream seperatly, as WAV's or MP3's.

No need for a sequencer if you just want to layer one instrument over another.

It has everything soundforge has and sounds every bit as good, but is totally free.
