MCE 2005 help wanted with coa

Hiya


My mate has a laptop he bought from comet, however he wants to do a fresh install but without all the crap that comes on these factory default things.

The only english version i can find on the newsgroups has the key embedded into it is there any way of changing this key so that he can use his own.

If you can find an original OS CD that is the same OS that came with the laptop, then u can use it to re-instal windows. If it asks for activation then call Microsoft on one of the numbers that you windows will provide for you and you should be able to go through the self activations process or talk to an operator. Make sure you back all the drivers like modem, lan, wi-fi etc before you wipe it. Or at least make a note of what the hardware is, i.e agere modem or motorola etc. I have just done a laptop from dixons and had one hell of a job finding the correct drivers ( with help from the good people on this forum)
