hi,
after having 2 ambit 200's zapped I tried the 'max_dload_tries 0' command on a fresh modem, It's a ambit 200 also with a 120 mac, when I connect to it in hyperterm I get this at the end of it's drivel:
BcmCmDocsisStatusEventCodes::kCmIsOperational
VendorCtrl: HFC up
A software upgrade filename was specified in the config file.
Logging event: Software upgrade has started.
Starting Software Update...
0x00005dfc ['CmDo' id=0x806d31b0] BcmCmDocsisIpThread::TftpSoftwareImage: (CmDo
csisIpThread) ERROR - SW dload exceeded max tries (0); aborting the download.
Link down--Ethernet interface
Logging event: Link up--Cable interface
Logging event: Link down--USB interface
Logging event: SW Download INIT - Via Config file cmreg-ntlhm120-mid.cm
Logging event: SW Upgrade Failed during download - Max retry exceed (3)
CM>
I have no idea if this is anything to do with the command and ntl trying to send new firmware and that command working by stopping it, or if it's trying to update something else and has nothing to do with it?
It would be good to know whatever it is if anyone knows,
the modem is working fine for now.
cheers.
