Maserati MP3 cover art issue

I have searched high and low with very little success... figured I'd check the European forums. I recently purchased a 2016 Maserati Ghibli S Q4. Before that I owned a 2012 BMW 328xi. When playing music (mp3's) from the USB stick, I could see the albums cover art on my BMW's display. For whatever reason that's not the case in the Maserati. One would think that newer (and better / higher end) car would have no problem in that department. I've tried re-sizing the embedded images but to no availability. Any ideas/suggestions?
