manually scanning

I recently read a thread from a member who listed 6 frequencies for possibly picking up teleport movies in my area, but I was wondering if anyone could tell me how I go about manually scanning these without kicking off a full system scan.
I know there's a chance it won't work but I wanted to give it a try. Anyone help - please?

If you're talking about transponder frequencies then you can add them to the cables.xml file. If you ftp to your box you'll find it in /var/tuxbox/config. Open it with wordpad and put in additional lines with the new frequencies. Ftp it back to your box and just do a normal scan. I would back up your services.xml and bouquets.xml files just in case you fook it up.

You might be able to enter the frequency on the service scan page on the dbox but I'm not 100% sure...not at by box just now so can't check.
