My view on this is, the Utd job is far bigger than anyone anticipated. They say the club alone and it's size and history of Utd will attract the best players ?, wrong. It might have done in years gone by but football has moved on light years and with the likes of the Champion League and money that comes with it means the best players become no more than mercenaries, their going will go were the money is. I'm not talking about 2nd tier footballers, I'm on about the top end players.
The other problem is that when you spend 100's of millions like Utd have done and then they fail then even clubs like Utd will struggle financially to replace.
Who chose to bring Pogba back ? who signed Lukaku ? and Fred ?? ffs seriously. Alan Shearer pointed out the faults with the likes of Rashford while on MOTD. He highlighted his choice of pass shot and when to... was lacking and he makes the wrong decisions at the right times. To me he's another Welbeck come Walcott. Your just waiting for it to click and exploded with a flurry of goals. Don't get me wrong he's good but good enough to lead the United front line ? not for me.
Solskjaer for me will need £500 million to put things right and that doesn't include using the money from the sale of Lukaku De Gea and Pogba things are that bad. The other problem is, wrong manager. Ole might know the club, be a hero of fans gone by but can he handle big time players ? time will tell but I don't think he has that experience. Will the board back him ?, I seriously do not feel they will. Utd should have kept him till the summer then weighed up their options. A perfect replacement would have been Massimiliano Allegri. He has no problems dealing with big time charlies and a winner both as a player and more importantly a manager.
And there's also Simone who I'm sure him time is due at Ath Madrid. If you look through City's most expensive purchases say top 12-13 buys compared to Utd's top 12-13 buys , the vast majority of City's are still in a match day squad and more than likely in the starting 11 were-as Utd's most expensive buys go all the way back to the likes of Rio, Di Maria, even Berbatov and Veron which shows they squandered and bought poorly.
Utd are in the shit big time, wait till the have to go back training early June because they've a Europa League qualifying game in July. I'd like to be a fly on the wall in the changing rooms then.
