mac question

hi my question is this
i have my internet conection running from my tv box but due to puting up the xmas tree i had to move pc up in to the bed room and i dont have a cable long enogh so could i get the mac address from the em on the tv stb and put it on a ambit 200 modem i have and would this be safe to do??????

well i suppose you could, your not stealing anything that way , but wont they give you a seperate modem if you hassle them? or just tell them the situation, or you could just get a 200 modem and clone someone elses mac.
