I built this gaming pc in March 2015 and up till now it's easily managed any game. It suffers lock ups with Ghost Recon Wildlands which are irrecoverable and result in me having to force a switch off. Sometimes it will play almost flawlessly.
I have checked out all the common causes. I bought almost the best available at the time so specs shouldn't be a problem. I have almost everything set to ultra or very high but my rig should support that. I'm going to tweak them down a shade as a test before trying an overclock.

Any advise would be most welcome before or if I decide to do this. I understand that it's fairly simple through the bios, ;)

My specs are:
QuadCore Intel Core i7-4790K, 4000 MHz (40 x 100)
Asus Maximus VII Ranger ROG version
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (4 GB)
32GB DDR3
Corsair H100i Water cooling
256GB Plextor M.2 ssd boot drive
Corsair RM850 PSU

Just toned the settings down and reduced the graphics memory use by a gig and it locked up within 5 minutes. I normally get longer than that, lol. Got to overclock the cpu and give it a try
