Looking for a little help.

I am a dvb-c user in an ex C&W area and I am trying to get a better understanding of how decryption works. In particualr how the roms/epps work.

The reason behind this is when VM change thier key roll methods, dvb-c users have to wait for some clever persons to apply a patch to the roms so they can be used to AU again using softcams. I would like to be undertand this enough so I could do this myself one day!

Can anyone give me some help on the best place to start?

From this I've figured out what's going on, and once you know what you're doing it's actually reasonably easy to patch the roms yourself if you've ever had any experience writing stuff in assembly.

Thanks for that, looks like there plenty to get my head around there!

I've done quite a bit of visual basic but not done any assembly stuff, so I'll guess I'll have to get my head around that too.
