Its impossible to know what was in Karius mind when he gave Real Madrid those two goals.
Has Klopp told him to get the ball back in play as quickly as possible, and rather than wait for a bit more space from Benzema he bowls it at him? but I doubt that Klopp has told him to throw one in.
