Thousands of commuters face heavy delays after services at Liverpool Street station were cancelled.
Services were cut after scaffolding fell on the tracks at the central London station on Wednesday night.
National Express East Anglia trains are not stopping at the station because of the closure.
However, it has not affected Tube services.

Network Rail is hoping the tracks will be reopened about 2pm.
The disruption caused chaos for passengers on the Stansted Express services to the airport as well as those travelling to parts of Essex, Cambridge, Norwich and Ipswich.
Rail passengers travelling to Stratford, Tottenham Hale or Hackney Downs, were forced to complete their journey by Tube or bus.
Passengers could expect delays of up to an hour, while work was underway to clear the tracks.
Debris from scaffolding which fell on the tracks was from a bridge near Liverpool Street station.
A National Express East Anglia train hit the debris but no one was hurt.
The bridge is part of work being done on the new East London line to Shoreditch, due to open in 2010.
A TFL spokesman said: "The contractors were jacking up the bridge. The jack collapsed and debris from the supports for the bridge fell on to the tracks. We are investigating the incident."
