line audio in ?

i am using on board sound on an asus MB anyone know what colour the line in jack is im using the mic in jack to record audio and its crap ive tried the others but cant get any sound in

check your audio settings m8 it my be set to 5.1 and depending on mother board it could be using mike imput as rear suround out, you got link to motherboard model m8.

line in for mic is usually pink,line out tends to be light green, after youve connected it you might need to configure your audio settings to confirm its a line in mic. also if your getting bad sound input, try adjust sensitivity of mic in settings also
