led simm only has 2 switches

hi.guys just tryed doing the led simm on a 4001 followed chartmans excellant tut .the problem been my led simm only has 2 settings & the one in the tut has three i just wondered if i'd bought the wrong one has after i soldered the wires and checked them numerous times just got flashing lights instead of steady ones ....any help appricated...thanx

You have Middle for IRD,Left and Right for boxkey....3 settings all on one switch.
I had a small problem once where all the lights came on but when i unplugged the box then plugged it back in all was fine
