Often when i turn my laptop on Windows fails to start and it comes up with the blue screen of death saying MEMORY_MANAGEMENT. Ive tried doing a virus scan using Avira but it got around 50% through the scan and the blue screen of death came up and it restarted the computer. it took over 1 hour to get half way through the scan so its damn annoying. I did the virus scan again and the same thing happened. any suggestions on what to do? thanks.

I would suggest testing your laptops memory. (RAM sticks)

http://www.memtest86.com/
download ISO and use your favorite burning program to create a bootable cd-rom.
boot from the cd rom and leave for at least an hour noting any errors and posting back here.

from my previous experiences a BSOD saying "memory management" can normally be traced to a hardware issue - e.g. a dodgy stick of RAM.

try a memory testing software like memtest86 (google it, its a freebie download) and see if that reports any memory module faults.

hope that helps u out mate.
