Anyone got some concrete advice for stopping all those e-mails about fake watches, viagra, banks, medicals, porn etc.

I used to be able to handle them, but they are coming with ever increasing ferocity.

Today I deleted over 4500 shite mails.

I don't want to use a standard junk mail filter 'cos I've found that some good mails end up in there and then I've got to check all the junk in case one has. That's like what I'm doing now.

Cheers

Let's move before they raise the parking rate.
If you're getting that amount of spam, then it's maybe a good idea to ditch that account & go with another e-mail provider.

GMail is pretty good at sorting out the spam from the legit mails.

Pass your new email address on to whoever needs it, & supply the old address when you subscribe to your pr0n, viagra or free software sites in future. :)

How are you getting your emails by Outlook, Outlok Exrpess, Hotmail/Livemail or via your ISP on line?

On hotmail, I think you can set an option to only receive things from people on your contacts. It also has a strict setting that blocks everything apart from your contact list and people who are safe senders. Although, I am not quite sure what a safe sender is...

Gmail is also quite good at getting rid of spam it doesnt like, and instead replaces the spam with ads all over its interface.

Hi mate.
I use different e-mail accounts for different things. so can't ditch them all, although the main one for everyday use had 3600 spam-mails on. Oi! cheeky, just read the last bit, I don't subscribe to ladeee sites or pole stretcher pill sites

Never used Incredimail so just feeling my way around the issue.

Don't know what filtering etc you've set up but just in case here's a link to the mway you go about that

http://www.mind.net/hpage/imailfilter.html

There are numerous progs around that specificly mention Incredimail but have not come across any freebies yet.

So let us know how you get on re the filtering first and let us know how you get on.
