Jailbreak question

Got an slim v3.41, to jailbreak it im planning of using my jailbroken iphone 3g, i wanted to ask what exactly gets installed into the ps3? will i be able to play online since i am not on latest version, do i always have to have a usb or my iphone connected to the playstation to play backed up games? does this get rid of warranty? can i delete the jailbreak so that no-one can tell without deleting other memory on ps3?

The only reason we can't go online is because if we try to then we'll need to accept the 3.50 firmware update which will cancel out the hack.

People were going online before Sony update the firmware and had no problems, BUT they stood out like a sore thumb as the game ID was LAUNCH12345 or something like that, regardless of what game they played.

Ouch!
