IMGburn overburns's dvd's and it does a whole lot more than just burn ISO's. I ditched Nero a decade ago when it became very overbloated. I can only imagine the amount of crap nero installs these days.

Besides IMGburn is totally free with no need for any dodgy cracks or serials.

It's the only burning software I use for Audio CD's (MP3 to audio) DVD's (both ISO's and VOB's & file backup) and Blu-rays (films and files).

The only thing it does not do is turn video files into dvd's, but I haven't done that since getting a media player a decade ago.

Nero became unbearable, first thing I used to do was turn Nero Scout off.

Does IMGBurn do virtual drives? I find shared virtual drives handy for installing stuff.

IMGburn does not do virtual drives.

I use to use VirtulCloneDrive from Red Fox, used to be Slysoft. It's totally free and very unbloated.

Not use it for ages though, if I'm installing stuff from an ISO (or watching a DVD film or blu-ray film ISO) i just mount it with the Windows 10 virtual drive, just double click the ISO (I think you can also use right click menu to mount also) and it makes a drive and drive letter, I then right click on the drive and select eject when I'm finished and it unmounts the ISO and releases the drive letter.

Shame. I'd be running it on server OS but I'm a bit old fashioned and I'm still using Server 2008 and Win7 although I just recently (reluctantly) got a Win10 laptop.

I might have been using Daemon Tools or PowerISO previously.

VirtualClonedrive is old, but still very much working, and free, works with all versions of windows I think.

Download Here

Do you know of any modern, light tools (paid or free) that does burn and mount images? I've not used any for a while but it would be interesting to know.

I stick to what I've been using for ages, imgburn and virtualclonedrive, never needed to look for anything else.

As they (who the f*ck are they) say "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Come to think of it, my "new" servers don't have optical drives :D.

So, I don't need writing tools on them or mounting tools on clients. Durrr... It's early... I'm getting a deja vu.
