IR receiver ?

A mate got a Pace 2000 but the IR remote didn't work so he bought it round to me to try another remote but none of them worked!
So i guess its the receiver on the front pannel thats gone or a cap' in circuit.
Whats the most likely?
where can i get a replacement?

i posted a pic a while back of the most likely fault clive {3.58mhz crystal on the maiboard} do a search on "2000 remote"

I've done a search on "2000 remote" which throws up 8 threads and you are only in this one.

But if you think its the 3.58mhz crystal i might have one in a scrap ph1b box to replace it.
