iPod ipod touch goosed

hi all
charged ipod on pc. went to turn on and now no longer functions. i.e when i try to slide to unlock nothing happens. its as if the touch screen is goosed. thought it had froze so done a restore. no differnce still the same. has any one got any ideas

Contact apple mt they sent me a box out out, popped the ipod into it and sent it back freepost. 5 days later brand new ipod touch and to add my daughter had spilt orange all over the other one so it was our fault but they never pulled me up so happy days.
