Ipod 4th Gen - Water Damage with screen frozen/won't reset?

I dropped my ipod in the bath, it was in for a second, took it out and wiped it, worked for about 15 seconds then screen froze on playlist.I tried turning off but wouldn't work then after 10 minutes it started to make a funny noise so I plugged it into laptop to try reset it but ipod doesn't show in itunes....after i unplugged it from laptop the noise stopped............help please ??

Make sure it's really dry, then put in a bag of rice for a few days.
