I can't charge my I-Phone 5 anymore: is there a way to reset it?

If it's the main board, it's probably well fcuked

Dead easy to find out but you'll probably need to take it to your local repair shop. They'll have a bench power supply and an iPhone 5 power connector similar to mine. Only take 5 minutes to know if the mainboard is at fault.

Don't get it. How can you verify the power circuit is ok using another iPhone???

I'm not talking about the charger mate. I'm saying if you take it to a shop he'll open the phone, disconnect the battery and connect his bench power supply to test if the mainboard is working. He will also be able to monitor the current for possible shorts

it would amaze you the amount of dirt that gets into the charging port from your pocket. Enough fluff gets in there and the phone can't charge. If you haven't already done so, I'd suggest using a paperclip to try to clean it out. Don't blow into it either, you'll only blow in a load of moisture.
