i always wondered what my dad meant when he said it was easier to get into the working boots than it was to get out of them..... i know what he meant now lol

Well Done mate!! When i got my first porper job (been working since i was 14) last year i was jumping for joy, fair enuff its one of the most boring jobs in the world (lifeguard at the baths) but the money is good and best of all i don't pay tax :):):) cause i'm only a year older than the OP :)

Because he most likely earns under the tax limit of £5,000 or something similiar. Its set by the government.

Usually, if you go over £5,000 then you have to pay 20% tax, until you earn £40,000 when you have to pay 40%.

The government do charge a lot, but that's life.
