install windows from usb stick ?

Could any of you good folk tell me if its possible to install Xp Pro from a usb stick ? the optical drive i suspect is faulty,though not sure,would like to confirm before buying a new dvd drive for the lappy

I'm fairly sure you can (may be a slightly watered down version?)

Ther are tools which will automate the creating of the bootable usb stick.

I think win2flash is a popular tool.

Make sure your Bios supports booting from USB.

yes I did it last week .. and installed without any problems
