Infra red

Hi all, my vu+ solo2 box is inside a cabinet, its not see through. I can't control the box with the remote. Is there a good, reliable infra red port that I can buy to help? I have see some online and bought one but it wasn't good at all. I've seen this on amazon but not sure it would help me:

Not sure on this but does the solo2 support hdmi cec?
If so there may be a chance you can control it through your tv's remote if your tv also has hdmi cec.
I control my Edision mini through my Samsung remote using hdmi cec (Anynet+)

Yes, but the cec doesn't control the box. Only the volume. Can only control the boxes with the vu+ remote right...

Unless you know how to program the remote to control the box through the tv infra red??

I can fully control my Edision through the tv's HDMI CEC.
You need to enable this feature on the solo2 in settings menu.
Menu / setup / HDMI CEC

Then press green to save and then reboot the solo2.
You can then go back into the HDMI CEC menu on your solo2 and enable your tv to wake and put the solo2 to sleep each time you put your tv into standby or wake from standy.
These initial settings need to be done using the original solo2 remote.

Then you should have full control via your tv remote.

This is using openvix....setup may slightly differ using different images.
