Inetbox 300s/ DM500s

I got give a Inet 300s box, seems to be a clone of a 500s. however i cant connect to it via ftp.

It has a commando image, but wont show up any ip address in DCC. I tried to assign one to the box but it work as it keeps saying the default gateway and DNS server is unreachable. As well as wiki.tuxbox.org

Anyone have any ideas how i could access it via ftp to put a line on it?

Take it you've tried other Ethernet cables ?

i actually havent as i thought you still needed to input the ip for a direct crossover in DCC? or is it just a case of connecting via ethernet and i will have access to it?

So your not using a router then ?

Crossover cable is what you need then not a patch cable.
