If a projectile weighing 100 grams hit a target at 50 mph, would it have a similar impact of an projectile weighing 50 grams traveling at 100 mph? :)

i would have thought the faster it goes the more impact.
Self test get wife to slap you from 6" away and from 3 feet away on your face and see which leaves it redder :mad: :eek::D
 
I forgot to mention why projectile weight is an issue, and it's all about the density.

That's why depleted Uranium is used (very dense), and I've handled Tungsten prototype "darts". Wolfram...

I also remember a mechanics seminar on "penetration" which used bullets as part of it.

A bit like forensics people do, they can work out what power/firearm would be needed to put a certain mass projectile into a certain density target.
