ARE WE DOOMED!!

A trillion-tonne iceberg - one of the largest on record - has broken away from an ice shelf in Antarctica.

Researchers have been monitoring a huge crack in the Larsen C Ice Shelf, which had left a vast iceberg more than four times the size of London or a quarter the size of Wales "hanging by a thread".

Scientists announced on Wednesday that the rift had finally completed its path through the ice, causing the 2,200 square mile (5,800 square kilometre) iceberg to snap off.

No doubt the global warming deniers will come out with some excuse.

You think that it would be big news though, but I found it by chance on a tech news site I read...

Would it just float into the ocean to melt then???

Mick

Yes -- as it floats north it will slowly melt ; might take a long time tho' !!

It won`t make the water levels rise as it was already was in the sea and has nothing to do with the fake news about global warming

I have to agree with you Joe.
Remember over 2 million years ago when the last ice age occurred?
I blame them fooking dinosaurs that came on the seen not paying there taxes.
You have to pay tax now to make the polar bears live.

Global warming is a natural occurrence as history has shown.
Just remember to tax anything that persons believe will heat the planet up.
To be honest we could do with a wee bit more heat in Ireland.
Just wish that iceberg hit my local tonight.
(No ice left for my magners)
:(
