How to repair XP without format?

How can I run a repair of my XP SP2 x64 without formatting there seems to be a few problems I can not fix and would like to refresh all the system files etc with a new install but without having to reinstall everything and losing any old data.

Is it possible?

I can get to repair console but that doesnt do what I want.

You can use 'sfc.exe' (start/run/sfc.exe) which is the inbuilt system file checker, you will need the original xp disc if it needs to repair system files,
