How to get a boot log on 500c??

I had a tutorial on how to get a bootlog but cant seem to find it. Think you had to use hyperterminal and press the back space key . Anyone help??

what are the settings for hyperterminal??. I tried yesterday, dreambox 500c came up in terminal and i was hitting backspace but nothing else came up in terminal. settings i tried was bits per sec - 115200, data bits - 8, parity - none, stop bits - 1 and tried all 3 different options on the flow control
