How to back your nand and install priiloader

Cut all files from you sd and store on pc for later

unrar files to sd
once you have files on sd
*put it in Wii
*click sd menu
*load hackmii
*install hbc
*install dvdx
*install bootmii as boot2 (if you can)
*install bootmii as iso
*reboot
*goto hbc press home on the Wii remote launch bootmii

*you will have 4 icons

Use the power/reset/eject buttons to navigate the Bootmii menu

select settings

on the next page select back up to sd

The back up takes about 10 mins and its normal to have a few bad blocks

Put the SD card into PC and copy the NAND backup somewhere safe, you can now delete it from your card. If you installed Bootmii as boot2 then also copy the Bootmii folder to your PC .

Now copy the original files back to sd

Priiloader is a modded version of Preloader. just like preloader, Priiloader places itself in boot sequence before the system menu.

You cant wright priiloader over preloader

never delete ios

If you are on 4.2 you need to have IOS70-patched.wad installed
If you are on 4.1 you need to have IOS60-patched.wad installed


Copy priiloader file to apps file on sd

Then copy hacks.ini to the root of the sd card

Go into HBC and select Priiloader, then load.

Hold + and B to install

Exit

Go to Priiloader menu and select system menu hacks

Then just enable skip disc update check and the region free ones

Save then go into settings

Autoboot = system menu

Return = system menu

Save.


When checking Priiloader is working, power off and then on holding the reset button until Priiloader screen comes up make sure you can get into the HBC.

Booting to USB loader GX

*place sd card in pc
*goto apps file
*then to usbloader gx
*copy boot.dol and paste to the root of sd
*place sd card in wii
*power off and then on holding the reset button
*it will boot into Priiloader screen
*click on load/install file
*select boot.dol
* A to install, once installed press B
*go to settings
*set Autoboot = installed file

On boot up your wii will boot in to usbloader gx. I have read this works with configurable usb loader. But still have to confirm

i recommend everyone backs up their nand, then rar it with max compression, this makes a 355mb (approx) file. once you have done that, create 90% par recovery data, this will give you about 670mb.

write this to a cd and put it in the box for the wii, even if you have installed as an IOS, this will recover your wii.

with the 90% recovery data, you will still be ok even if the cd gets scratched or has dye rot

just a quick one on autoboot dol you posted. Its best to include the path too. Incase like myself people use a different path from the default one otherwise it wont work.

whats wrong with leaving the nand as it is without compressing it? what difference would it make?

you wouldnt know if it was ok... with decompressing it you will get an error if the file is corrupt.

at least with compressing it, when you extract it you know its not damaged.

ill post up a full tutorial once i get chance, rar'ing the files, creating par recovery data and burning the disk.

recovery data means, if the cd gets a scratch in it, you can recover the missing data.

basically with 90% recovery data ANY 90% of your rar'ed nand can be missing/damaged and it will repair it. its the same thing newsgroups uses.

I have installed priiloader and done the 'booting to USB loader GX' bit but with configurable USB loader V54-fat and it boots straight into configurable USB loader.
Every time there is a new version of the loader eg. V55 I will have to install that version into priiloader. Is there a fowarder I can install into priiloader so that it loads whichever version Of CFG USB loader that I have on the USB drive?

Use the Power button to cycle through options in the menu, and Reset to select or use a Gamecube pad in port 1

I installed priiloader today, previously had preloader.

For anyone who gets just a black screen with your system version on after you install priiloader (which is what I got).

Dont bother restoring your nand (like I did a few times, doh!)

It is due to the system hacks, most likely the recover on standby. Disable all then enable one by one the ones you desire.

I have got as far as pressing + and holding B then i get this.....Priloader system menu ticket not found. trying to read original ticket....unautorised to get ticket. is ios249 trucha signed, aborting mission... any ideas please?
