How is this acceptable?

I wouldn't say they keep a welfare dependent voter base. But they're certainly more generous to the "welfare state".

I'd say 'considerate' and so they should be. The safety net should be there just in case anyone ever needs it. I'd hate to be poor and sickly living in a tory world where they'd use any means, legal or illegal to make your life a misery. The fact that a goverment would break the law to f*ck it's people over is very scary!

This is still an aside as to the original post but...

I'm sure you're not daft @janobi so look at how all socialist entities work - Reliance on the state.

In the UK, people will vote for socialism if the state promises benefits. People get complacent on benefits and have little reason to adjust and strive for better things.

Labour and other socialist governments rely on the dependency of their electorate.

When people start earning good money they tend to start voting for parties that espouse lower taxes.

Your last statement on the welfare state and public sector workers is one of complete fantasy, prove it!

Your lefts and rights are completely mixed up. Brietbart is a far right news agency.

Must admit I am wondering how far to the right you must be to think that the news agencies you listed in post three are considered lefist. It's concerning...

@Munkey, I'm a Socialist, a National Socialist. Just joking :).

Everyone knows that public sector are mainly (I do know some anomalies) Labour and Lib Dem through Unite and Unison etc.

Reading Breitbart still doesn't mean I have my right and left mixed though! Just search for John McDonnell or something to that effect.

Breitbart is one of the media outlets that I don't have to pay for. Express and Mail are both bounded by remainer editors now, no newspaper of mine.

We are supposed to have National Health Service, we have International Health Service.

I know people in this realm and they would not disagree.

Surgeons won't complain because they can do a couple of cataract operations on a Saturday for an extra £5k.

That's just some crappy divisive slogan mate. Educate yourself into the actual figures relating to this.

I didn't invent the slogan so I assume other people think the same.

I know people that work in the (I)HS, women in their 60s, and cataract operations are very popular for Indians.

When people start earning good money they tend to start voting for parties that espouse lower taxes.

If they had a conscience they'd be prepared to pay a fair tax rate and support decent schools, decent public transport, decent roads, and decent public services as a whole.

Unfortunately the Thatcher inspired "I'm alright Jack" and "There's no such thing as Society" mindset has led to the present "Greed is Good" cancer that infects Britain.

Yeah you're right. I was at a Jezza rally just ths morning and there she was, that 60yo blind Indian women on a bloody poster alongside Hitler and Stalin being held up behind Mc'Donnell whilst he gave an inspirational speech on the rights of lesbians and gays and why they should get free parking in Aldi.

Nothing wrong with Maggie, she did what had to be done at the time due to the power held by unions. Then was thrown under the bus.... Unfortunately.

Would you keep things the same or change it? If you would change it then what would you suggest?

Good for you.

Unfortunately Munkey a lot of those on "Benefits" dont deserve them, and are working the system. Benefits were originally brought in after WWII due to the amount of widowed wives, who couldn't support themselves or their families. It was never meant to last that long, nor was it meant to bring up generations of families on them.

I know first hand of people who are "Working the system", too many people are now happy to live on benefits, and bemoan the people taking their jobs. The jobs that they wont apply for, and even if they got it, wouldn't do, as they're not willing to lose out.

I dont believe the government broke the law over the benefits thing, although I dont agree that they incentivised it to get more people off the sick. IMHO benefits should only be for 6 months, after that you either have to do unpaid work to get your benefits, or you're completely let loose. We have become somewhat of a nanny state, where many people believe they've a right to this free benefits system, as "I was born here".

@Spectre, of course I am daft ;) . I know what socialism is, and how it works. I am also aware of how capitalism works :) . Whilst your argument is a common one, masses of those living off the state actually voted Conservative, and not Labour, im sure I could dig out some figures, but I know you're more than capable of using google :)

At the same time, I am a firm believer in paying your fair share, and there are those that dont want to do that, through tax evasion means. Hiding money in offshore accounts for instance, non-doms etc.

Labour have 0 chance of being elected at present, they're too far to the left, and Corbyn has not been able to capitalise on any of the Tory mistakes, or faux pas. The only one of the labour team I even half believe, is Tom Watson, he seems a genuine person, who has the greater good in mind. The rest just seem like loons to me. I mean FFS, they used to have one of the biggest champagne socialists in the party, a certain Mr Umunna, just have a read of his past, and what he said about people, and tell me he's out for the good of the people!

Personally, I dont believe any of the people in parliament represent the common man, they're only in it for themselves, and numerous scandals have proved this. Expenses scandal is probably the biggest example of this, but also the massive pay rise they all gave themselves...

There was a publication titled something like "Who Your Dad Think's He's Voting For". it was about old Labour and "New Labour". I'd probably vote Old Labour if it still existed. It was all about preserving jobs for the indigenous (I await the triggered).

Remember, chaps, that it's Toady Blair's "New Labour".

I also believe that is why LibLabCon need to be destroyed. All mainstream parties need to be destroyed :).

Sadly they did break the law. This is really shameful, our governement screwing over the most vunerable in societly by any means.

How about Windrush? We could add racist to that list. A brief look at the history of the British in the past few hundred years further reinforces this.

The 'common' man however has no issues with the £500B-£1T of bank bailouts since 2007, it's because he's evolved into a bigoted idiot with the aid of the state.

Windrush, they are free to go to Liberia if they dislike it here.

Any former slaves or indentured servants are free to go to Liberia.

Whilst what they did was the right course of action for many people, the incentivisation of the whole operation is what caused these companies to be over zealous and to sign people off, who are clearly unable to work. However, there is a vast majority that were able to work, and completely working the system.

I have an issue with the bank bailouts, but then what would these politicians do after they left government if they didn't help the banks eh... Or facebook for that matter, or any other number of firms.

@Spectre, you're just trolling with the last comment.

Well, that's interesting. Should we mention the Cyndi Lauper song?

I've heard this type of talk on these very forums.....

It was by a bloke who felt discontented, was aroused by other peoples possessions (sky tv, bigger penis etc) and their general good luck in comparison to his own bad luck and supercharged self loathing.

His name was Karymmigrant6 (PBUH).

I'm sitting here with my mate Ziggy who reckons there's a 92.3% chance you will have the same outcome.

Nanu nanu brother.

Yup sshhh. I'm betting Spectre's never watched a foreign TV show cause it'd probably steal his electricity and give it screen burn or summit

At least compare me to someone on the poster.
