how do i play movies i have downloaded onto a external hardrive on my samsung tv please

the hardrive is in NTFS , i have put two films on there which show but wont play ? , they are blueray files so do i need a player on the hardrive to play them ? if so how do i go about doing this please

I don’t think that will work. You will have to play the files through your TVs software or connect an a media device ie Android box and then plug the hard drive into that or connect your laptop to your TV and play them from the laptop.
I would imagine that it’s your tv not supporting the file type that’s the problem. Have you decoded the blu-ray movies yourself or downloaded them. How old is your tv.

You can’t play Blu-ray movies on Samsung TV from USB directly.

You will have to convert them m8
