Dead Pixel Check
The first thing to check is that there are not any dead pixels on the screen. This is best accomplished by:
Menu - Function - Screen Wipe
This will blanket the screen in white making any dead pixels easy to spot
Picture Settings - First 200 Hours
Firstly, I have turned on the following anti-screen burn countermeasures:
Menu - Function - Screen Save (I have set this to pixel shift every 5 mins)
Menu - Function - Luminance Manager (on - cuts down the contrast in the corner of the panels i.e. where station logos reside)

Sharpness = 0

Connection Details
Ensure that freeview/NTL/sky boxes are all set to output RGB.
If you intend to use scart for DVD, again set to RGB.
RGB signals are only accepted on AV2 and AV3. NOT AV1
