Help!!!

My external hard drive has suddenly stopped being recognized by my laptop,when plug in Auto play runs but does not "see" any files.Have tried uninstall driver.other usb ports and wishful thinking.regret no luck.
I also try with ( Sata IDE Cable) but the same problem.
Any help please

You say its not being recognised but Autorun is still working, which suggests it is still finding the disc. Does it say it is not formatted or anything when you try to open it in explorer?

Have a look in disk management.
see if u can see it.

Method 1

Hold "windows" Key and tap R
type in "diskmgmt.msc" in run box click [Ok]

Method 2

Start-->Run (in xp) or
Start-->All Programs-->Accessories-->Run (in vista)
type in "diskmgmt.msc" in run box click [Ok]

Method 3

Right click on My Computer and select Manage from menu
click on Disk Management
