i have abandoned the idea of getting this running on my nforce4 motherboard.

so i am now trying it on my brothers asus board that has got the via8237 chipset on it.

so far i have went into bios and diasabled all ide ports

disabled boot rom

changed onboard promise board - operating mode too "ide operation"

when i have everything else unplugged from the motherboard mtkflash wont detect any drives

when i leave the cd-rom attached on the idea channel, i dont get the option of pressing 1 or 2 after running

mtkflash r /m orig.bin

i get this

port 170, master/slave a0

flash type: "mxic(mx29lv008b)(+3.3v)

then it starts to read the flash on the drive it says

reading and goes upto 100% a number of times then eventually it says

writing output file failed. or something like that

this is because it runs out of space on the floppy as when i boot into windows again i have got a orig.bin file on there

my problem is.... because this only works like this when the cd-rom drive is attached

is mtkflash reading the flash from my cd-rom and not the xbox360 drive???

go to the via site and download the latest raid drivers

is that the xp or the dos drivers

or are they the same???

i need the mtkflashvia.zip file

looked everywhere for this modified mtkflash to work with the via chipset

anybody have one or point me in the right direction????

here you go,also ive added a few tuts to my other post, with piccies and everything

and now i have thrown in the towel

i have read loads of posts about this all over the internet........ i have tried every thing that people have said worked for them.

and i cant get it to work

i thought to myself...... fcuk it buy a sata pci card and be done with it

but during my research on the net there seems to be a very common theme coming up..... and that is people with samsung drives with fw 25 seem to be having very big problems getting anywhere with their xbox 360s.

so im going to look into this a bit before buying a sata pci card.

i have read in a few places about the video cable need to be plugged into the xbox360 also

not sure how much truth there is in this........ but i might aswell give it a shot

its the only thing i aint tried!!

yeah, surprisingly it does make a differance, the first one i did i didnt have it plugged in,and i had no end of trouble, but the second one i did i had it plugged in,only connected sata b4 i sent the command prompt -bingo had no trouble since
