Win 10 Help please - no Text in Windows or Command prompt

My laptop was working last night, then today no text in Windows or Command Prompt, I have reset a few times and still the same problem. I try to open an HP PC Hardware Diagnostics App and it was out of date so I downloaded this from the HP website (sp102329.exe). I have gone into settings and it's not there uninstalled.

1. Open regedit.exe
2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Command Processor.
3. If the Autorun string value exists, delete it.
4. Right Click > New > String value.
5. Name it Autorun.
6. Right Click > Modify
7. Replace the Value data with color 0f & color 0f.
8. Press OK.

Problem seems to be fixed, almost 2 hrs to download and install the Windows 10 update .
