help needed with ifa

im trying to boot a sagem via ifa as I have the kein system message displayed.
Im using a null modem cable & cross network cable, but nothing is happening just the following
BOOOT/TFTP bootstrap loader (v0.3)

This get repeatet a few times then ifa produces a error box in german

Can anyone help.

Disable winxp firewall, disable av soft, disable worm protection from norton, set your network card to 10base half duplex.

Do you use a real crossover cable?

reading from the packet:
UTP crossover cable for networking cat 5 compatible.

i had the dreaded kein system message, just had to keep trying and trying, restart the p.c and go at it about 3 or 4 times.....there's a guide on here, or have a look for the post "dreaded kein system" quite helpful really.......

Did you set the network card to 10base half duplex in the settings for the lan connection to the box?

yes lan settings are as above

can anyone translate this error message:
es wurde zehn mal vergeblich die dbox vom netzwerk zu starten. Bitte uberprufen sie ihre netzerkkonfiguration. Resetten sie die box fur einen erneuten versuch.

IFA tried 10 times to boot the box via network. Something is wrong with your network connection.
Did you disable the winxp firewall in the misc tcpip settings for the lan connection to the box.

what should the internet protocol settings be (obtain ip address automatically)???

You need a fixed IP address. 192.168.0.1 for instance, netmask 255.255.255.0

sorted thanks alot. I now have the box running, but i still have my original problem - Waiting for time & Channel not avaliable.

Hence I got the earlier problem ive tried reflashing but nothing, even tried a scan but the box found some transponders but no channels.

Does it sound like the tuner has gone down?

Try a services.xml for your area, try a different ucode version, maybe you need a booster.
