help I am under attack from security tool

Thanks for your help guys I ran malware and that has seemed to have picked up the problem with the 6 free cures but it also noted about a thousand
other problems is it worth spending the £29: to have them repaired.

dont be silly mate theres plenty help on here save your money

For starters have you got a external harddrive to back up your music and media on ? If you have do that asap

most viruses hide in your system restore and your volume software etc even if you paid for a fix it would come back 99% of the time.

First thing I do Is back up my media turn off system restore then tackle the virus If things are still running a bit slow after all this including reg cleaner malware scan anti virus scan windows defender delete all internet history run a good cleaner do as much as you can.

If your still a bit suspisious just format your full drive as long as you have all your media backed up Its worth while

better safe then sorry and a full format takes about 40 mins and then maybe another 2 hours to get all your programmes reinstalled and configured but hey then your safe and ready to go till the next time maybe another 12 month?

to be honest I do mine every 6 month or so just for peace of mind and have a fresh running system.

If ever in dowt wipe the fcuker out :proud:

good luck :Fish:

system restore Is a nice warm hiding place for viruses I always disable mine Its a crock of shite although I do admitt It can come in handy for driver problems ?

But trying to use system restore for viruses just does not work m8

Last night my problem cleared but returned this morning, I followed srgberian's instruction and cleared (unchecked) 3 unknown programs in the startup menu. So far so good, I will keep you posted (scream for help).
The help I get from you guys is superb, thanks.

Yup, had to do this on two mates lappies in the last few months. Different variants of the same thing, using 10 digit numbers to disguise themselves. Kill the process like this and Spybot the drive. Sorted. Then stop downloading dodgy porn (says he using a Braille keyboard with his hairy palms!).

Whatever you have done you must turn off system restore otherwise the problem will keep coming back. Once you have turned SR off and the virus is clear you can then switch SR back on again.
