That's strange. Why would they stop Sky Sport HD but leave the rest?? Or more to the point, how can they just stop a selected few??

Probably testing some new encryption and then stop all hd channels..and then everything else..

That was quite a while ago now, not sure why they have not rolled it out for all channels?

Could it be that they want to keep those people that are paying for a minimal service on board but bowing to pressure from sky / fifa?

Likely a decree from Sky to keep those channels, they had to accept the new encryption. Sky would be the ones using it, VM just basically borrows the service from them. TBH I doubt that VM gives a flying about people pirating their services, whilst on the other hand I suspect Sky does, as they're the prime supplier for most channels, and with CS and the likes, they want to clamp down upon it.

But why would they leave the Sky movie channels to clear?

Maybe 90% are lunatics into getting sports by any means and closing that loophole they have to find another way.Movies are not as popular but for me i love them and not into sports.

I was thinking along similar lines. I guess with the likes of Netflix and free apps/ addons, Sky's movie day's are numbered. They're only ace is the live sports.
