To guitarists out there, see what you make of these:

The first clip is a russian guy that i believe knocks Yngwie Malmsteen off the spot, Yngwie ONLY plays in A minor and ONLY plays appregio's, but...this russian guy plays the lot!, See if you can spot a couple of bars from the Need For Speed 1 intro solo.

This one, well...clever but just NOISE!, just watch the limiter LED on his amp. LOL

Hi, both are amazing to watch but i can't get into the content of what they are playing, it sounds like 400 year old harpsichord music to me!
Joe Satriani makes for better listening, at least it's got a blues hendrix groove feeling thats only half a century out of date :)

shredders are pussies :proud:
the 2nd guy either has no fookin idea about tone or his amp is rank its just nasty

Shredding is the most dull type of guitar playing there is. It usually just impresses other shredders. The guys definately have some skill and an awesome technique but it means nothing when it's mindless noodling with no thought gone into phrasing. It usually doesn't impress non-guitarists. One guitarist that has a good balance between phrasing and speed though is Eric Johnson. Cliffs of Dover is an awesome example.

Any guy can knock Yngwie off the spot, btw. He's one of the most dull and repetitive guitarists I can think of.

Oh, and the guy in the second clip has a pretty rubbish amp, which explains a lot

When it comes to guitarists like Yngwie, Vai and Satch, I would say this is one of their best examples of playing: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKiI8d2jzU8[/ame] ;)

I totally agree with you, the guy in the second clip (post #1) is just producing over-distorted noise, though was impressed by the first clip. Whether somebody likes shredding or not depends on their taste in guitar play style, i personally go for the style of Vivian Campbell, Jeff Healey, Toni Iommi, (most of) Randy Rhodes and 'YES' Jimi Hendrix amongst others. I generally don't go for shredding but there's a difference between somebody playing fuzzed up, over-toned random notes and somebody playing with some context and resonance. As for Yngwie, he thinks he's god guitarist, he isn't. As i explained before; he ONLY plays in the A Minor scale in the style of Appregio's which to me just sounds too repetative and quite dull as you say and YES, even i could knock him off his high horse.

can these videos be saved ? sure this has been asked before ?

I don't think you can save them, i use Hyperionics HyperCam to copy the streaming from the desktop, just as good as dloading the vids.
