γ=1−c2v21....?....Speed of light in a vacuum....where bodies are not at rest
An object say 10000 times larger than our sun(Sol) should if light was aimed at it on a course that created a slingshot effect, speed up the light wave/particle/photons. Gravity would/should speed up the light wave..then again im just a wee fat drinking welder...lol

I Dug out the Ouija board and had a word with S Hawkins, still can't resolve this issue..the Hangover continues...:(
Ps ...I'm not a proper welder...:)

Light does not behave in that way: its speed is constant unless it is travelling through a different medium, such as water or glass, when it slows down a bit. The gravity of large bodies (including the sun) will bend light but does not affect its speed.

"Speed is Constant unless ". . . i rest my case.. 😉

Had a conversation with someone at work a few weeks ago, we talked about Cherenkov radiation.

He asked if I knew what caused it. I immediately said it's when electrons can travel through the medium faster than the phase velocity of that medium :).

Phase velocity is a fancy term for speed of light in that material, I think :).

The propagation velocity is hampering my head, so much so that my head is glowing Blue...i hate blue..:(
