Goodmans X-Pro dvd recorder problem

Hi,
I have a Goodmans x-pro dvd recorder and having problem with the "open and close tray.When i press to open,the tray does not open until i banged hard the side of the recorder.Any idea on how to solve this problem?.All help will be very much appreciated.Thanks.

It's probably the drive belt on the DVD drive thats worn/shiny. Take the lid off and take out the drive. Underneath the drive you should see a black rubber belt, take it off and clean it with a chamois leather and some meths or isopropanol, until the rubber is dull again. Then use a few cotton buds to clean the two wheels the drive belt goes round. Put it all back together and it should be like new again.
